Edensol, based at Espai Boule in Reus, has started its participation in a European project co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, with the aim of increasing the participation of elderly people in cultural and social activities. The project is developed in collaboration with partners from Portugal and the Czech Republic, and seeks to promote a more active life in the elderly at a social level, as well as promote a sense of European identity and understanding of the values promoted in Europe.
This transnational project also aims to create spaces for continuous learning for the elderly, preventing isolation and keeping them up to date on current issues. To achieve this, from Reus the participation of several senior choirs in online sessions will be facilitated, where participants will learn about the functioning and methodology of choirs in other European countries, making these groups a training and social cohesion tool.
In addition, the project has the support of two universities of the third age, which will share knowledge and experience to promote the active participation of the elderly within society. This collaboration will allow taking advantage of the educational value of choirs, transforming them into permanent learning spaces.
Edensol, committed to the social integration of the third age, thus leads this international project, which seeks to create a cultural and training exchange network, while promoting the values of solidarity and cohesion at European level.
